Getter Marie Lemberg
GETTER MARIE LEMBERG is a Ph.D. student in the Exercise and Sport Sciences programme at the University of Tartu, and a junior research fellow at the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physiotherapy (University of Tartu). In her research, she focuses mainly on how the school environment affects physical activity among students while concentrating more specifically on recess (outside of the schoolhouse) and schoolyards. Getter Marie has also obtained a bachelor’s degree in sports psychology, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Western Kentucky University (USA).
Getter Marie has spent most of her life at a sports stadium since she used to actively train in the sport of athletics and continues to have an active lifestyle to this day. Because Getter Marie grew up in a family fond of sports and works closely with the Research Group of Physical Activity for Health (University of Tartu) and the programme of Schools in Motion (Liikuma Kutsuv Kool), she is inspired by the goal that every child could have the chance to be active and feel the joy it brings. For rest and relaxation, she likes to read fiction books as well as autobiographies, and walk in nature with her dog.
